I have always been boxing mad and even before (and whilst) I competed I found ways to immerse myself in the sport. I have been an avid watcher since my early teens and my boxing journey as a competitor began a few years later at Angel ABC in Islington, London.
Under the tutelage of Ivor ‘The Engine Jones’ and Colin Lake I competed as an amateur for a number of years.
Whilst the boxing club only consisted of a small group of senior fighters, it can proudly boast that these fighters went on to become ABA finalists and winners as amateurs as well as a world title contender as a pro.
I only had a handful of fights (remaining undefeated), before calling time on my career and after a hiatus moving into coaching.
The years spent as an amateur in Angel served me well as I blitzed through my coaching badges with the London ABA (I reached level 2 in under 6 months), and began to work under the great Luigi Leo helping to run the senior team for Sobell ABC, a start up boxing club in North London.
We are currently building the squad but already have a number of carded fighters, making a name for the club on the London amateur circuit.
Whilst doing this, I have prepared people from all walks of life for White Collar and Charity fights, improving both technique and fitness.
A student of the sport, I have travelled the world visiting the finest pro and amateur gyms to discuss the sport as well as the coaching aspect in places like Freddie Roach’s Wildcard Gym, the World famous Gleeson’s Gym in Brooklyn and Floyd Mayweather’s gym in Las Vegas.
I was lucky enough to work for David Haye’s Hayemaker Promotion in 2018 and that allowed me to see how Elite level boxers train as well as spend time in the presence of the presence of the legendary amateur and professional coach Ismael Salas.
One of my first loves, boxing has been ever present in my life and will continue to be!
